APMEX Partnered with RMC to Raise Funds for Hurricane Relief
In August and September, two separate regions of the United States were devastated by Category 4 hurricanes. Following these disasters, APMEX teamed up with Republic Metals Corporation, based in Miami, to issue 1 oz Silver rounds to help raise funds and awareness for both hurricane relief projects.
Two 1 oz Silver rounds have been made available, each emblematic of the state they represent. The Hurricane Harvey round reads “Stand United – Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund” surrounding a large single star. The other side reads “Houston Strong” and shows an image of Texas, with a heart over the city of Houston. Similarly, the Hurricane Irma round displays “Stand United – Hurricane Irma Relief Fund” surrounding a beautiful beach image, with “Florida Strong” on the other side around an image of Florida.
“As a company, we are truly honored to be able to do our part toward helping our fellow Americans rebuild after two devastating events,” APMEX CEO Ken Lewis said. “We worked closely with Republic Metals to create two beautiful, elegant rounds with imagery that defines both Texas and Florida. We are proud to say that 100% of the profits from each of these rounds will go directly to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Funds.”
Located in Florida, Republic Metals saw first-hand the effects of Hurricane Irma and is glad to lend a helping hand in whatever way they can. “As a company that understands the devastating impact a hurricane can have, we wanted to do something to help the families impacted begin the healing process. Creating these Silver rounds to raise money for the relief efforts seemed like a natural way to help,” Drew Bloomberg, Republic Metals Corporation Director of Precious Metals Product Sales, said.
Hurricane Harvey made landfall August 25, 2017, on the Texas Gulf Coast. Harvey was the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005. Just over two weeks later, Hurricane Irma hit the mainland of Florida, on September 10. At its peak, Irma saw wind speeds up to 185 mph and was noted as the most intense Atlantic hurricane to hit the U.S. since Katrina, also in 2005. Both hurricanes had a combined casualty figure of 211 victims with an estimated damage figure of $133 billion.
These 1 oz Silver rounds are an easy way to show support to victims and their families as well as survivors of these recent catastrophic events in American history. All profits go to the American Red Cross Relief Fund for that particular hurricane. Shop APMEX today to support our country as it continues to rebuild.
