The American Women Quarters Program
APMEX offers the Maya Angelou, Wilma Mankiller, Sally Ride, Nina Otero-Warren, and Anna May Wong quarters from the U.S. Mint. We provide a wide variety of graded American Women’s quarters in addition to quarter rolls and graded sets.
The American Women Quarters Program is a four-year program splitting each year into quarters. Each quarter represents a different theme of women’s accomplishments and contributions to the development and history of our country. The U.S. Mint will release five new reverse designs each year, beginning in 2022 and continuing through 2025. The obverse of each coin will show a different likeness of George Washington than the design utilized during the previous quarter program.
Older Quarter Programs
Following the success of the 50 State Quarters, the America the Beautiful Quarter Program
helped establish the multi-year format of changing reverse designs as a familiar part of modern quarter collecting. The American Women Quarters build on that same framework while shifting the emphasis from states and nationally significant sites to women whose achievements shaped American history, culture, science and public life.
The women shown on the 2022 quarters have made an impact in the arts, humanities, science, and politics. They have provided representation for communities that have historically not had representation in their respective fields. For example, Sally Ride was the first American woman in space and Nina Otero-Warren was the first Hispanic woman to run for U.S. Congress.
