OKLAHOMA CITY (October 2, 2020) – The United States Mint has unveiled the new reverse designs for the 2021 American Eagle Gold and Silver coins. 2021 marks the 35th Anniversary of the American Eagle Coin program, and the new designs will begin appearing on these coins in mid-year 2021.

“Being the first-ever redesign of the Eagles, this is a huge event for collectors. It’s a big change to replace the designs that have been so well known for 35 years, but these designs look great, and we’re really looking forward to seeing them realized on the coins next year,” said Kyle Klosinski, Senior Product Manager at APMEX.

Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris created the new Gold coin design that was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon. AIP Designer Emily Damstra created the new Silver design, which was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso.

“These beautiful designs build on the United States Mint’s heritage of artistic excellence and fortify the American Eagle Coin Program’s status as an icon in the numismatic and art worlds,” said Mint Director David J. Ryder.
