Verifying the authenticity of a PAMP silver, gold, or platinum bar is easier than ever with mobile applications like the PAMP Suisse Veriscan app, available for iPhones and iPads.
Using the app to scan the front of the bar assesses its surface topography and compares your scanned image to one that is stored in the PAMP VERISCAN database. The app provides a passing result for authenticated products and a failing result for products that may be counterfeit.
All precious metals have unique microscopic features like fingerprints.
Larger PAMP silver bars and gold bars can be scanned from all six sides of the bar for enhanced and reliable authentication.
Why Do I Need to Verify My PAMP Suisse Silver and Gold Bars?
Counterfeit silver and gold bars are problematic because they can used to defraud unsuspecting buyers. Few things are more frustrating than hunting for a deal and losing your hard-earned money in buying fake metal.
Producers of counterfeit precious metals products imitate popular designs and brands of silver and gold bars and use online platforms to sell their fakes.
To avoid falling victim to these scams, it is imperative to conduct business with reputable, trustworthy retailers and precious metal dealers. If you are concerned about having purchased a counterfeit PAMP product, download the VERISCAN app and follow these instructions to authenticate your VERISCAN labeled PAMP products.
How to Use the VERISCAN Mobile App
The VERISCAN app works to instantly and confidentially authenticate PAMP Suisse products bearing the VERISCAN logo. The app’s advanced scanning technology identifies and compares the surface of PAMP products with a digital record of the product that is made during production.
Download the VERISCAN App
Whether you have bought from a reputable dealer or not, if you want to authenticate your PAMP gold and silver products, begin by downloading the VERISCAN app. You can find it on the Apple App Store for mobile phones and tablets.
Select Automatic Scan and Follow the On-Screen Instructions
These instructions will entail scanning the product packaging with the app. These will provide a prompt to scan the QR code on your CertiPAMP assay packaging or assay card. This step must be done within the app, and you may not use the QR reader by itself or images you have taken with your phone prior to using the application.
Select whether your product is CertiPAMP packaged or unpackaged, and then choose the product’s side (front/back) to authenticate it.
After you’ve scanned your product, the VERISCAN app will open a corresponding page on the VERISCAN website. This page will list details of the bar, including its weight, purity, mint mark, and serial number.
Compare this information with the information from the packaging of your precious metal product. If they match, then your product is genuine. If they do not match, ensure that the information provided is accurate- If your information is accurate, your product may be counterfeit.
How Do I Scan Larger Precious Metals Products?
The options for scanning products are listed in the application’s menu. You have the ability to choose which sides of the product are scanned. Authenticating larger products is easy with the enhanced authentication option, which scans all six sides of a gold, silver, or platinum bar.
