OKLAHOMA CITY (October 28, 2020) – APMEX teamed up with Peanuts Worldwide to release a series of specially produced Gold and Silver rounds to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the popular Peanuts franchise.

APMEX offers three versions of these limited mintage Peanuts rounds: 1 oz Gold, 1 oz Silver and 1 oz Proof Silver. The Gold and Proof Silver rounds have mintages of just 70 each. The brilliant uncirculated Silver rounds have a mintage of only 7,000.

The obverse depicts an officially licensed image of Charlie Brown standing with an arm extended next to the official Peanuts 70th Anniversary logo with Snoopy laying on top.

The reverse displays the officially licensed Peanuts logo along with the following characters from left to right: Pig-Pen, Schroeder, Franklin, Woodstock, Sally Brown, Charlie Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Peppermint Patty and Marcie.

The Gold and Proof Silver versions come in a unique Peanuts-branded box and a certificate of authenticity. Individual Silver rounds come in capsules, while multiples of 20 are packaged in a heat-sealed roll.

“Launching these limited editions, Precious Metal coins is the perfect way to celebrate Peanuts’ ‘platinum’ anniversary,” said Camille Apodaca, Category Manager, Hardlines for Peanuts Worldwide. “We know our fans will be excited by these collectible offerings.”

A beloved brand, Peanuts has been a sensation since its release in 1950 when Charles M. Schulz introduced the comic strip with an unlikely round-headed hero, “Good ol’ Charlie Brown.” Since then, the franchise has expanded to include books, plays, movies, television shows, theme parks and a global merchandising program.

“We are so excited to add the Peanuts family to our expanding list of licensed products. From Charlie Brown and Snoopy to Lucy, Linus and Woodstock, there is a character that everyone can relate to. With the holidays coming, and Peanuts celebrating its 70th anniversary, there is no better time to introduce this new and exciting series,” says Michael Steinhardt, Divisional Merchandise Manager at APMEX.

Celebrate the 70th anniversary of one of the most beloved comic strips of all time with these collectible Gold and Silver rounds, available exclusively at APMEX.
